The objectives of this course is to provide residential surveyors with an understanding of the significance of Planning Law and how this may impact up on valuation by demonstrating how the planning process can cause delays in the development and impose restrictions on legitimate use.


Please note:
 This online course refers to and signposts the useful areas of text book ‘A Practical Approach to Planning Law’ by Victor Moore and Michael Purdue.  This is not essential reading but will enhance your knowledge of the subject.

Objectives

This is an online presentation setting out the details of the planning framework, how this process works in respect of planning applications for residential property and covers some of the complications such as Planning Obligations under Section 106 notices. It highlights the significance of:

  • rights of way
  • restrictive covenants
  • un-adopted roads
  • drainage requirements
