Excellent turnout at the Residential Surveying Careers Fair 2022

On 24th March 2022, Sava once again hosted the only careers event dedicated to the Residential Surveying industry. We were delighted to welcome over 400 delegates and exhibitors to the Coventry Building Society Arena for a day focussed on future careers in the residential sector. This was the fourth careers event Sava has hosted and was the largest one yet.

There were 37 exhibitors which included small, medium and large surveying firms plus a range of supporting services such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Rightmove.

Running alongside the exhibition there were two conferences. The Careers Conference had presentations from organisations and individuals, each giving their own personal view and experience of working in the residential surveying sector. There was also a Technical Conference where industry experts were talking about some of the significant topics currently affecting the industry. Both conferences were received positively and gave interesting insights.

Marion Ellis, one of the speakers at the event said:
“Events like this are important to bridge the gap between starting out and being further down the road and it was nice to see a variety of exhibitors, talks and more technical CPD.

A really well done to everyone who attended and contributed and also to those at the start of their career for taking the plunge. It can be scary talking to recruiters and handing your CV out for the first time. I’m looking forward to next year already”

The feedback received so far has been fantastic with surveying firms delighted to have met so many potential employees.

SDL Surveying was one of the exhibitors at the careers fair:

“Thank you to all the team at Sava for putting on a fantastic event and inviting us to present on the Careers stage to their learners about our business. We had so many positive conversations with attendees about their future opportunities to work with us! Thanks again Team Sava, we are already looking forward to next year’s event.” – Rachel Griffiths, Head of External Operations – SDL Surveying

Sava Students also found the careers fair beneficial:

“Brilliant day at the Sava careers fair! Great venue and really good to meet so many of the companies that I’ve been reading about. A really positive atmosphere with lots of chat about this great profession of surveying we have in the UK.” – Gregg Cave, Sava learner.

“A fantastic event. My hope was to get industry opinion of the demand for trainee surveyors, but it completely blew my expectations. I don’t think I’ve ever been in such a room, so full of opportunity. I just don’t know, whether to join a corporate firm or SME.” – Ashley Royer CeMAP, Sava learner.

Andy Flook Development Director at Sava commented: “We are pleased to have brought together an event to showcase residential surveying. It provides an opportunity for employers, learners and support services to build their networks and celebrate being part of a fantastic industry”.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all exhibitors, speakers, Sava learners and all the other guests who contributed to the successful day and we hope to see you all next year!
