This week Derby Homes was successful in gaining funding as part of a consortium with the Midlands Energy Hub. This money will be used to improve the homes of 80 residents.
Derby Homes is responsible for the management of and investment in, Derby City Council’s social housing stock of 12,757 homes. Ash Redfern, Senior Maintenance Surveyor at Derby Homes said:
“Sava provided a vital role in helping us analyse and extract our space heating requirements. Without this we might not have been able to secure the amount of funding we did. We are delighted that we will be able to improve the homes of 80 residents. The difference this will be able to make is immeasurable. It will provide warmer homes which are cheaper to run. We are also trialling installing Integrated solar panels as part of roof covering replacement programmes in Derby and hope to roll this out in the future.

Sava provide software, consultancy, and support services to over 200 housing providers who look after 3 million homes in the social housing sector. Sava provided specific support on the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund wave 1 funding to a number of these customers and is looking forward to assisting more providers apply for wave 2 funding.

The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) will allow the upgrading of a significant amount of social housing stock to an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C. Registered providers of social housing (including private and local authority providers) were able to apply for funding from a pool of up to £160,000,000 available in wave 1.
Wave 1 projects will follow a ‘worst first, fabric first, lowest regrets’ approach to improving the energy performance of social housing by 31 January 2023.
