Understanding Gas in Domestic Buildings.

This qualification covers the basic understanding as to how gas systems (for example heating, cooking and gas fires) work in domestic buildings. Failure to understand the risks associated with gas and to recognise bad practice can expose occupants and others to injury and can damage the property.

  • Understand the importance of ventilation for a domestic gas system including the elements of building regulations and requirements for gas systems including ventilation.
  • Understand the potential risks associated to domestic gas systems including the risks caused by unsafe practices in relation to gas installations, the issues that may be related to old or defective gas fittings and the Health and Safety requirements that must be adhered to.
  • Understand the legal requirements and regulations in place for gas systems.
