The NES residential surveying diploma tour of England is all but over. We have just one more date to go in Southampton on the 10th April, organised to accommodate wannabe residential surveyors on the South Coast.

Our purpose is to present our vision of what Residential Surveying diplomas should cover, giving our members a chance to ask questions and give feedback face-to-face. We want to know what you need from a surveying diploma so we could adjust the structure, before everything is finalised shortly.

So far we have visited: Manchester, Birmingham, Yorkshire and Bristol, as well as hosting an event here at the National Energy Centre in Milton Keynes. The feedback has been very productive which we have taken on board and are using to fine tune our plans.

When told that the PSSB Diploma in Residential Surveying and Valuation (DipRVal) is designed to map against the pathways of entry into the RICS and will allow direct entry on completion, many of the people we encountered wanted confirmation about the backing that RICS is giving to these diplomas. We are delighted to now be able to point them to our place on the RICS list of qualifications which allow direct entry into their organisation at Associate member level (AssocRICS).

This means as a holder of the DipRVal you’ll only need to send proof of your qualification and then successfully complete the RICS online ethics test to become an Associate member. Once you’re in the RICS, there are clear routes to Member level allowing you to become a chartered surveyor.

If you would like more information on the Diplomas, or if you have attended one of the road shows and would like to give feedback on what we’re proposing, please email training@nesltd.co.uk.
