Top surveying employers met tomorrows future surveyors at the Sava Careers Day at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry last week. Over 200 delegates listened to leading industry figures discuss their recruitment needs and the exciting opportunities that are available to anyone thinking of becoming a residential surveyor.

Sava’s Managing Director Austin Baggett said “It was exciting to hear so many speakers explaining their own perspectives on what an interesting and rewarding career residential surveying can be. The UK housing market is incredibly diverse – 25 million homes of all shapes and sizes and all in varying states of condition. Surveyors play a key role in the housing market and attracting more people into the sector is going to be critical if we are going to ensure our homes are fit for the future.  The purpose of the Careers Day is really to shine a light on this opportunity and in that respect we’re delighted with how the day went”.

Exhibitors and speakers included the leading names from the sector, including Countrywide Surveyors, Connells, e.surv, and Legal & General Surveying Services, as well as medium size and smaller practices.  Kate Charrington from Countrywide Surveyors talks about the importance of diversity in the sector, as well as being busy with her iPhone recording opinions from delegates and speakers.  You can watch Kate’s interviews below.
